ANXIETY
Covid 19 has really highlighted anxiety and how easily it can develop. The mental health foundation released data showing that one in five adults living in the UK feel a sense of hopelessness following the pandemic. On top of that we are leading into winter which brings with it SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Anxiety can be tricky to beat. Exercise and good nutrition are an excellent way to combat those winter blues. If you feel there is more than just anxiety and a slump going on then make sure you contact your GP.
It can be really useful to create new habits in your day-to-day life that focus on your own health and wellbeing. Introduce these new habits one by one and interweave them with already formed habits such as having breakfast or brushing your teeth *see the L-fit Glasgow personal training tiny habits guide.
A good physical health can have a positive impact on your mental health. Remember when we exercise, our bodies produce those happy hormones we call endorphins! On top of that exercise also promotes the release of serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine which make you more alert and pull you out of that slump.
